Don’t Miss the Scotney Castle Garden

No trip to Tunbridge Wells in Kent would be complete without consider visiting the Scotney Castle Garden. Currently the number 1 attraction on trip advisor this is a sight not to be missed even by those of us who tend not to favour historic sites.

This National Trust Property offers a great deal of history as well as information for visitors and is situated in a stunning location. The gardens that surround the property are kept in an immaculate condition throughout the year. These gardens are at their peak in the Spring, Summer and Autumn so don’t forget your camera.

Parking is available on site for 130 cars and this can get busy during the peak season so it will be well worth getting their a bit earlier if you are going to visit just to ensure that you get that space.

You will find nicely presented restaurant on site that offer sandwiches and refreshments.

Families with little ones are more than welcome as they offer a host of things to do for the children which will keep them entertained and busy throughout your visit.

The area is also very popular with local wildlife. You may have the chance to see bats, dormice and the odd dragonfly during your visit.

Dogs are welcome to visit the site on leads around the estate, however not in the garden.

If that still hasn’t whet your appetite, it is also the only National Trust-owned working hop farm. This really is a must see attraction.
