In 1968 the Grosvenor Orchestra was founded by people who wanted to get together with friends and play music; still going strong today the Grosvenor Orchestra has grown and now holds twice monthly meetings and rehearsals in Tunbridge Wells. Free concerts are occasionally performed for visitors and residents of Tunbridge Wells and new players are always welcomed into this friendly band of musically minded people.
The Grosvenor Orchestra plays a wide variety of music pieces, from the 17th to the 21st century, from well known composers and some less known. You will find the members of the orchestra are a friendly mix of people of all ages, brought together because of their love and passion of music. If you’d like to see the Grosvenor Orchestra play then their next concert is Saturday 27th April 2013, 7.30 p.m. At St. Philip’s Church, Tunbridge Wells, and will be held to raise funds for Hospice in the Weald.
The Grosvenor Orchestra are a delight to watch and do much for the local community. Go along and support them and their fund raising efforts or join in with the rehearsals.
